Choirs

Junior Cantors
The Junior Cantors is a group of post-B’nai Mitzvah teens who not only love to sing, but also enjoy expressing and deepening their joy of Judaism through prayer, song, and study. The group meets with Cantor Kliger once a week on Saturday afternoons for about an hour. They lead Friday evening services about once a month and also lead the High Holy Day Family Services. Junior Cantors gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of the prayers, while strengthening their understanding of Jewish music. Junior Cantors is open to anyone between the ages of thirteen through eighteen.

Family Choir
The Family Choir is an intergenerational vocal ensemble. The choir can be heard at High Holy Day Family Services, as well as at special concerts, services, and events throughout the year. They sing a broad variety of musical styles—from the classic composers, like Lewandowski and Sulzer, to more contemporary composers like Taubman, Recht, and Friedman. You don’t need to be able to read music to be in this group. All you need is a strong desire to lift the congregation through music.

Temple Emanuel Children’s Choir
The Temple Emanuel Children’s Choir is directed by Cantor Yonah Kliger. This ensemble welcomes all students from third grade through eighth grade. The group performs at various Temple events and celebrations including Hanukkah, Mitzvah Day, and Yom Ha’Atzmaut, just to name a few. The group also performs throughout the greater Los Angles Jewish Community.
