About Temple Emanuel
Welcome to Temple Emanuel. Since our beginning in 1937, Temple Emanuel has been a sacred community in which people come to mark life’s passages and discover a Jewish way of making sense of the world. As a modern Reform congregation, we take our inspiration from Torah, learning and wrestling with it in order to discover within it what is relevant and enriching to our lives. We aspire to be passionate, active, visionary, artistic, caring, and spiritual… and to lead the way in Jewish education and the arts. In our congregation Israel Matters, and we know that our Jewish lives are enriched by connection with Jews around the world.
We also celebrate the truth that there is more than one way to be a Jew and many different doorways into a more meaningful Jewish life. We offer many different doors… Jewish learning, Jewish culture, compelling worship, social justice, community, and spirituality. Our goal is to be a mezuzah at those doors, greeting you, welcoming you, and encouraging you to explore your own Jewish path within the embrace of a nurturing intergenerational community.
Join us and help us become a community that lives up to its name: Emanuel…God is among us.
